My business depends on the overall economy, which has greatly improved these last years. Everything was so stagnant and slow in the years before, and the tone was we could not expect better, but now it is. I hope we can avoid sabotaging this positive trend. The partial government shutdown, although not having any affect on my business, should be avoided and so should not having any common sense and making everything political. Business is business, it should come with integrity, dedication, care, and the best results.

Dealing with the mythical potential customers existing in cyberspace; How do they determine the quality of my services from cyberspace, and how can I connect with them through cyberspace is my challenge. I'm not sure if many of them actually exist. I buy credits and text out my best pitch, but guess I was spoiled when customers actually inquired by giving you a phone call or by walking through your (business) door, and you had an opportunity using our comprehensive intellect and senses to make a professional and personal impression. Texting the best pitch is so inadequate and likely basis a hiring decision (by a real cyberspace customer) solely a matter of price. Referrals do provide a better approach in connecting with potential customers...

Yes it has, which has virtually eliminated the service provider and customer having a direct (face to face or even phone to phone) exchange or interaction. Social media marketing is more like playing darts in cyberspace. The service provider (could be at any level of qualification) is on the board, and the customer throws the dart. What can we say..."good luck." I'm not being cynical, that's just the new approach to marketing and I haven't yet figured out how I can get to having that direct contact to actual work, the Studio, and me. Possibly Nicole has a good approach with the video, although this still needs marketing. I and others in my business have hired social media specialists, but so far in my circle we've hired big promises with little results. The only advice I follow myself is to keep on probing every possibility and never give up.

Most never showed and I would essentially have the same 5-7 photographers show up. That's OK, but it's like getting a thousand likes on Instagram, it really adds up to not much. Then again nothing ventured, nothing gained. YOU might get lucky with it, you know, the right place, right time, right subject, or right gimmick...
