"I came to see Dallas Street Dental after my old dentist kept queuing me up for more and more procedures. I finally decided to get a second opinion and so glad that I did! Dr. Ligon has always been straight forward and has saved me thousands. My family has switched and love Dallas Street Dental as well. With my family and our friends that have switched over, there are over 25 people that we know that couldn't be happier. "

We support a multitude of customers , from hosted servers, to hosted phone systems, and hosted internet for several as well. So when our network goes down, so do theirs. We have structured for fail over on most situations but as the IT world knows you cant plan for everything. When the critical happens I rely heavy on my team, together we work diligently to isolate the root cause of the issue and fix it. As well as to make sure we have a contingency plan in the event the same issues arises again.
Most of our clients way about equal on cost and trust of tech, I push hard for my guys to be completely transparent with customer on why they need to replace, and balance the cost of repair versus replacement.

Not big on resolutions, firm believer you should try hard everyday to be a better person, not just at first of the year. But I will take some time to reflect over past year on things I can improve on.

I dont have my own business, but work for small business owner. I worked for cooperate for 20 plus years, every day I spent working with end users and listening to them. Yes that is strange an IT guy who listens, but I did, end users always complained about equipment not working, software issues, bad connections to wireless. I tried hard to resolve their issues but always was told cant afford when took to upper management with solutions. I found it difficult to support end users when couldnt fix their problems, left work each day feeling like I failed. I decided to leave cooperate world and go somewhere that I could help. I started with this company 4 years ago, each day I come in and listen to end users, give them options to fix their problem, and then actually get to fix them. Most of my customers have come to trust me to give them best solutions for most economical cost. Sometimes I cant fix their problems but at end of the day I know I gave my best, and the do appreciate it. So guess best to answer the question if I did have my own business the reason for starting would be to help others grow their business. Together small business can be as strong as any big cooperation.

My customer success story is odd, many years ago I got strange phone call from elderly woman. She said she had gotten my number from one of her friends and they gotten from another friend. She had some issues with email and wanted to know if I could come out and help. I was unemployed at time and was working to finish up my degree, so any work was welcomed. I meet with her fixed password issue with email, was finished in about 10 min, told her $25 would cover the cost. She refused said it should be more, I explained time was min, she was only few blocks from college, and I was between class. She paid and I really thought nothing more about it. I got call about two days later from her husband thanking me, and wanting to send me a thank you card, I reluctantly gave him my address explaining it wasn't necessary. Few days later I got card in mail with check for $50, with note said the payment wasn't for work done but rather the professionalism shown. I have been to there house about 6 times since then always something simple, but have gotten calls from 15 to 20 of their friends wanting help with pc related issues. I mention this story as example, it shouldn't matter if you are working on simple issue for stranger, or major issue for your biggest client. Treat them all with same professionalism and it will be repaid. Strive to treat everyone the way you want to be treated, in today's busy world we get so taken up with making the money, we forget about customer service.

Ok been a while since posted here, been super busy. What motivates my network, great question, I find it hard to know best way to network, and bigger question is it truly helping my business. I think the key is are you having fun. Networking needs to be more about meeting people, and discussing what their ideas are. I am in IT networking to me is fixing a router or switch. So others ideas are definitely better than mine when comes to networking business relationships. I go to allot of networking events, and make a point to meet new people at each event, but fail to let them know who I am, and the company I am representing. Be honest about who you are, what you can offer and listen to what they need, then offer suggestions and extend a business card. At that point see if they would like to reach out to them at later date, or if they prefer have them just reach out to you.
Take the time to truly listen to them, follow up on an issues that you may have fixed for them, I have found out allot of times once you go out and work on something and it is still giving them issues, they wont call and let you know. Check in on them time to time even if they havent reported an...

Check in on them time to time even if they havent reported an issue. This shows them they are important all the time not just when they are spending money with you.
Lines dont work, know your customer, know their needs, and be honest, if it is truly something they need and they trust your not trying to take advantage of them, they will go with your suggestions.

I learned along time ago talk to your customers not down to them, be transparent, customers want to feel like they can trust you, and to be honest they should be able to trust you. I try hard to let my clients know what I am doing as well as why, give them options and always express which option I feel is best for their environment, and why. The most important is listen to them, in the IT world the end user knows there is a problem, but dont always know how to tell you what the problem is, listen to them will help you better understand the true issue.
