In the rock n roll music industry, a young man of only 21 years of age named Dirk from Fort Worth, Texas drove out to Hollywood, California to join a band and make it big in the city of stars. He could "sing his balls off," he liked to tell friends. The first day, he arrived, his car broke down and he was forced to take the bus to band practice where he did not win the gig. The second day, his girlfriend back home sent him an email to tell Dirk she left him for a woman. The third day, Dirk decided to interview for a job as a dishwasher at a popular L.A. restaurant. He got the gig. At the end of his first eight hour shift washing a mountain of dishes, Dirk's boss looked at him with a great big smile and said, "I guess you didn't know that you can sweat your balls off too!"
