I came across this continuum recently and found it really clarifying.

For a long time, I’ve described my work as trauma-informed.
But this helped me see that what I’m actually practicing—especially in my studio—is closer to trauma-responsive.

Not just understanding behavior, but shaping environments, pacing, and interactions in ways that support regulation, safety, and real engagement.

For those of you who work with people—education, healthcare, creative spaces, or client-based work—I’m curious:

Where do you see yourself on this continuum?

I’m especially interested in how this shows up in environment and pacing—not just mindset.

For those working with people, what does “responsive” look like in your space?
