Are captions for pictures and videos worth writing?

In the eye-catching and attention-captivating digital world that we live in today, do people pay any attention to captions attached to a picture/video post?

absolutely! It personalizes it and gives you a platform to share your knowledge, thus building a relationship and trust with potential clients.

Yes, I believe that captions draw us in into paying attention to the writing and videos.  Sometimes in our busy life, we may filter more information by quick captions.

Absolutely! Whether it be a motivating quote or a description of an exercise. Captions are going to be what sets the context for your picture or video and add more depth to your content

In my opinion, yes. They could be a draw, to make people want to know more.

a good question... The answer depends on the subject matter of a given image. Captioning family reunion candids, yes that's important. Captioning a cute little kitty drinking milk out of a bowl or something captioning would be cute, so that would be a plus. Captioning pictures of a wrecked car for insurance purposes yeah that would be a plus there too. So captioning any given image for the most part usually is a plus. But the answer will actually come from each individual viewer as to whether they relate to captioning or not. It falls to each individual as to how the images relate to them, emotionally and visually. But what I have learned from experience is that names and dates of images with people in them  are more important than captioning! 🙂

Yes! Words on the picture can also do justice, it just depends on what you are marketing or what your message is. Always think of "what does my client get out of this"? Like Luke said below, a motivational quote, exercise, maybe a nutrition tip. Add some extra value to the photo with your content! :)

I think it depends, sometimes the pic says it all.  But if you’re advertising a special, etc. or some insight,  a caption is helpful

Captions for a video online are essential! It helps grab attention so much better because people can know what is happening or being said in a video without having the turn the sound on. And if someone is scrolling through on Facebook, the captions can be the only thing that makes them stop to pay attention.
I read captions as i like to know whats behind the picture or any relevant information.
