The basic difference between commercial and residential real estate is residential is based on value of the property and commercial is based on value of property and income of the business and if any machinery or trade fixtures go with property.

Residential property is solely for living purposes, while on the contrary commercial property is used to give profit to the owner.

Yes!  I often tell others that the difference between Commercial and Residential Real Estate and their transactions, is like the difference between Law and Medicine!  Residential Real Estate is based upon Emotions, where Commercial Real Estate is based upon the Numbers and Financials.

Yes many differences. Anything from the sales process to the purchase agreement, compliance, etc...

Residential is where someone lives. Commercial is where they work. McDonalds is commercial, Cherry Creek North is where people live. There are two types of realtors, one for commercial and one  for residential. What are you looking for??

Commercial real estate has HST , charged and is for businesses, apartment buildings etc. Or a property in a commercial zoning area.
Residential real estate is normally exempt from HST ... there are different forms used for each type of real estate

Yes there are! Inspection period is longer for commercial and contract etc

Residential applies to homes, condo's, apt's, Commercial applies to businesses.

All single family homes and one to four unit rental residences are consider residential real estate.

Anything with five or more units or multi units. Also industrial is considered commercial.

There are lots of differences. However there are lots of similarities. This answer can o my be answered with a face to face conversation. If you are serious about this topic I’m open to having a conversation .
