About Us

I have been very blessed by my 39 year Real Estate Broker career! I am just as excited today, as when I started!

I just work very hard at what I love to do, and I guess people notice. You can read about what my clients say on Zillow by clicking on www.Zillow.com/profile/Jerry-Gooze/. Zillow honored me as one of the Top Real Estate Agents in California in 2014. I was also honored for the 9th year in a row in the Daily News Readers Poll as "Favorite Agent" in 2016. I was also honored by Los Angeles Magazine as on of the Top Ten Most Dependable Realtors in Southern California, and in Forbes Magazine, as one of the Top Ten Real Estate Professionals in the Western United States.

All this is amazing to me, as all I do, is take care of my Clients in every way I can think of! I've owned a Century 21 office for about 5 years, but I found that what I really love to do, is take care of my Sellers and Buyers!

The interest rates for Buyers are historically very low now.  This encourages a Buyer can pay you a higher price because their payment Is more affordable because of the lower interest rates.  Interest rates won’t stay this low forever. Yes!  I often tell others that the difference between Commercial and Residential Real Estate and their transactions, is like the difference between Law and Medicine!  Residential Real Estate is based upon Emotions, where Commercial Real Estate is based upon the Numbers and Financials. I would tell your family you just want the independence of going out on your own.  You don’t need to work at a place where people are working against you.   Having people tampering with your car is unacceptable and possibly threatening to you. Time to say, “Adios!” (more) I would tell your family you just want the independence of going out on your own.  You don’t need to work at a place where people are working against you.   Having people tampering with your car is unacceptable and possibly threatening to you. I coach then on which changes would be economically advantageous for them to make.  It’s like detailing your used car when you sell it to get Top Dollar. Why then wouldn’t you detail your house when there is even more money to be made? Cosmetic changes involving paint are less expensive than Large Changes.  I think it’s to the Seller’s advantage to make cosmetic changes rather than large ones.  Cosmetic changes will likely double the Seller’s investment while large changes might not make sense.  A new kitchen is probably a powerful upgrade in selling a house, and yet, if you spent $50,000 on a new kitchen your return might be $50,000. You haven’t accomplished much with respect to your profit then. So it ultimately might not be a profitable move, although it might help the property to sell. With respect to the Contractor‘s question, we can only make recommendations, but it is the Seller’s money, and the Seller’s decision on what money to spend in preparing the house to sell.  In some instances, the cost of preparing your house for sale maybe tax deductible, so check with your CPA. In summation, it is the Contractor’s job to sell as much of his wares as he can to make a good living.  It is the Realtor’s job to make thoughtful recommendations for cost-effective improvements likely to maximize the Seller’s profit!  That’s the difference!   It, of course, the Seller’s final decision to decide if they are comfortable investing in improvements, and have the budget to do so.  Our job as Realtors is to give our Sellers all the different options and recommendations so the Seller can make the best most comfortable decision for themselves.

They are often more introverted. Entrepreneurs don’t want to take orders from anybody!  They’ll go out and do what they need to do. They are often extroverts. There is nothing wrong with either of these groups.  They can both be successful! You are an introvert who belongs more in a corporate setting.  Your discomfort is because you’re trying to be someone that you’re not! You don’t have to be in sales!  You can be more in logistics, and accomplish goals for your Corporation’s interest. Accept who you are, and you can be wildly successful!  Good luck!!!

Most real estate agents I know are honest, honorable, very hard-working, conscientious professionals who really want the best for their clients. My personal philosophy is, “”If I take care of my Clients, I don’t need to worry about me!” That has been true for me as I am enthusiastically entering my 40th year as a Residential Real Estate! My profession really gives me the opportunity to put some good into the world, make a contribution, and make a positive difference in people’s lives. I know many other professionals who feel the same way!

For future business, start a Farm Area, and repeatedly knock on doors, and get known in a small neighborhood. Again it's Face-to -Face. Do not be pushy, just be helpful and informative. You need to be patient, but consistent! A Real Estate Career is not built overnight! I say this as a n almost 40 year Agent, aformer Office Owner, and a person who has had a wonderful lucrative career with Countless Recognitions and Rewards. You must determine that this is work you truly love, and it is the career you want to invest in as your Life's work! You also need to be honest with yourself to determine if you have a natural talent for being a Realtor. Mostly you just need to have an honest desire to help people. If you take care of your Clients, you won't have to worry about you! You don't have to be a Realtor, but if it's for you, it is a wonderful career! Good Luck! Jerry
