Inflation is NOT down. Inflation is just not as high as in the past several months. I do believe this slowing of inflation is the calm before the storm of hyperinflation soon coming to America. Words can be deceived by those who wish to manipulate the truth for their own benefit!
My business is busier than ever.
I am not sure who they think they are fooling with those numbers. The cost of most materials just took another 6-8% increase and they just announced another one coming early 2024. We are paying over $4 a gallon for fuel and just 3 years ago it was $2.75 a gallon. Our current government could care less about small business owners and their families. The only thing that they care about is helping themselves and the people around them.
Play with statistics all you want, prices are NOT going down. The basic cost to simply exist has multiplied exponentially and continues to do so. Government spending is disgusting the only thing congress refuses to spend money on is Americans. The dollar is in severe distress and the country is fringing...let's send billions all over the world snd deplete our oil reserves! The absolute stupidity of this administration is simply baffling.
The economy is cyclical and always has been. Yet the foundation of the current high inflation cycle's propulsion lies in the Trump administration. We cannot just turn off that switch. Biden has been doing what he can to protect middle class folks. The Fed Chair, a Republican, is responsible for prudent steps to return to low inflation. Janet Yellen, our Treasury Secretary is a rock star, confirmed by both Dems and Republicans. Still, there will always be inflation, and low inflation is generally between 2-3%. And interest rates will decline. Let's take a breath, tighten our belts just a bit, or look for a better job since the job market is strong, and know that things will continue to improve. Please educate yourselves and don't just react. Politics and the economy are not the same.
People don't work to have a "job"... We work to live, if what we do for work is costing us 40,50, 60 hours per week and we still can't make ends meet for a small family... That's not a job... It is slavery remixed! Our government has spent far more to bail out and protect the wealthy class than it has help average to below average income earning citizens!
In our business inflation is not down. However in real estate it’s called appreciation by owners inflation buy purchasers. Interest rates are a big factor for us. Not only because of less affordability but the unrealistic belief they will drop much lower. In my opinion at best rates will only drop to 6% by the end of 2024.
While rate of price increases(inflation) has come down significantly, overall cost levels have increased 20+% over the last 12-18 months. This continues the negative impacts of increasing costs and trailing hourly/salaried wage increases. "Good" economic numbers don't translate to the majority of the US population.
Inflation is idiosyncratic. It affects some sectors and not others. General conclusions are not helpful. I understand why some sector respondents are upset. I have clients who have trouble finding staff because of wage rates, for example. Scientists and health technical and clinical staff are definitely in short supply.
I am old enough to remember 20% interest rates, so today's rates don't scare me. They just mean a different kind of financial planning and profit expectations.
Good luck to all.
Thanks

Am tired of hearing from 'experts' AKA propagandists. Fill up your vehicle with gas and go to the grocery store and you will know the truth. Inflation and high interest rates (both caused by deficit spending, along with continuous anti-business policies being inacted, makes for an interesting business climate.
