Here is what I recommend businesses start with:
Claim your Google My Business Profile
Create a business page on FB
Create other social media pages based on what makes sense such as Twittetr, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest
Buy your domain name for a future website
build website
marketing for long term: seo, google ads social media
branding: online display ads, google ads, social media, online reviews management
marketing recommendations are based on conversations with business owners and their goals. And without a conversation I won't make a recommendation. Its not A sales thing, its the truth. If I don't know where a business is and where they want to go, I can't make a recommendation.
hopefully that answers your question
My business is based on one on one meetings with clients, so this has been a period of significant adjustment. However, being able to use the online Zoom platform has helped tremendously because at least my clients and I can see each other. I already had a significant web presence and relied heavily on email for communication, and that has only increase. Of course, the good old-fashioned telephone has also worked well during these trying times.
We have expanded our content to a near daily output including doing simple videos 2 or 3 times per week. The important thing is to keep it current. Address matters which have come up because of the pandemic and how they impact or could impact the industry. It shows potential clients a degree of expertise and that we are still doing business every day.
What "doesn't work" is seeing some businesses either not update or keep sending out content as if nothing is wrong. I'm seeing that too often and it makes it look like they don't care.
It really depends on your business. Having an online presence is incredibly important in today's digital age. But just a website isn't enough. Each business is so unique. Consult with a digital professional like myself to have your business evaluated. During a meeting, I evaluate each business and show the first steps in getting online or expanding your online presence. My goal is to help grow each business! We go over each step and the reasons why each is important. Well, I have been a "virtual" law & business development firm for more than 15 years … engaging all clients either by video call, telephone call or email. We have developed a variety of protocols, processes and formats for engaging our client "virtually". What is interesting is that my wife is a kindergarten teacher … teaching over 20 five-year old children by video call for about five hours a day. As you can imagine, working with so many five-year old children "virtually" requires a multitude of "engagement-keeping attention" protocols that has been illuminating. If you can keep the attention of 20 five-year old children for that long … it is worth learning.
Business can continue virtually - although in an industry like real estate, there's a time where an agent needs to go out to properties to have photos taken, allow buyers to physically see the property... however safety measures should always be in place for the well being and security of all.
What type of business do you own?
Have you done any type of online marketing
If so, where, if not, why?
Do you currently work with a marketing professional
If so, in what capacity, if not, why not?
What is your marketing budget? (this is important because unlike other agencies that charge retainers and ridiculous monthly amounts with zero promises, we meet the you where you are at financially)
Are you incorporated and do you have a brand ID/business Logo?
Do you have a website, social account, and how is that optimizing on Google and in basic searches?
There is a list of other questions, but those are the main ones.
As for how we use online marketing, everyone's story is different, and here is ours:
We are and have been online way before the Coronavirus. To not have some sort of presence is business suicide especially now. The most important thing I have learned about managing my online presence is to remain consistent and not just post randomly but instead educate and connect with my peers. By peers I do not just mean people doing the same thing, I mean people I can learn from.
What has not worked for me are Facebook ads. Utilizing my own software for hypersocial marketing has been more effective as well as just talking to people. Now with the current crisis, those people and I connect no other place than you guessed it - online.
I have actually been pretty busy these past few weeks with prospects. The individuals I am meeting with are all in the same boat, they do not want to be left behind with other companies start taking off. With the country opening up slowly, we are strategically partnered, have a strong social presence, and are ready to take 2020 by storm.
Quite honestly in my line of work, a Personal Trainer's role is to ensure clients are training in a safe environment. Adding in only virtual consultations is what Velocity Athletic Training will offer. On-line virtual training is the last resort if a client cannot make it to a 1:1 session. Safety, Client Confidentiality remains a priority.
While Virtual Tours are great introductions to a property.. however clients do not give up seeing property in person, as contingency in offer prior to closing, as real estate transactions are usually the most expensive investment
families normally make. Closing are now available to be completed on line however it does take the personal connection away from the transaction.
Very convenient for some buyers...but most that we are seeing still like to
have that personal connection, even though now buyers and sellers must
sign separately … hope this too shall pass. I personally miss the hugs at the closing table.
Think like Bill Gates or Oprah, how would they start a company and promote it?
You need a smokin hot web site but have to get it found.
If you don't appear on page on Google in your category then you are out of business.
So need to invest upfront to get eyes on your business.
Take advantage of Facebook ads, take advantage of Google ads and the follow me technology .
Be seriously vested in social media and have a great FB business page.
Promote, promote, promote and network with other business.
Find a bird dog or two that believes in you and your business concept to help you find clients.
If you have a store front have easily visible sign out front with a big red rider "Now Open".
Give it everything you have for the 1st 90 days to get this business launched like a rocket ship then once in orbit you will burn less fuel!
