I would recommend a local printing company. You will be able to see samples and your order can be customized. They can give you a better understanding of the final product. While using Vistaprint, you are limited to template size and stocks, they are using an online website to process your order, also once your order is placed it is a number to them and if you need to change your order you cannot. The order can get lost, or damaged. While your local printing place can let you know if there is any problem or if the job is on time. Visa Print prices are cheaper but once you check out for payment, delivery is an additional cost - which is very expensive. So Why Not Support your Local Print Shop. They will know you by name.

Some sighted that while the initial cost of the print job was inexpensive, when they ordered reprints the cost increased significantly. Others have had problem where their project was printed wrong and we as a local company were called upon to either fix the product or reprint it due to turnaround time and Vistaprint needing to ship the product. As a Graphic Designer with 30 years of experience working in local print shops, I would rather see local people support local print shops.
If you like taking chances that it's right or on time, deal with the foreign company. Otherwise deal with your local printer, they will make up with service and speed and dealing with a real person who cares about your business compared to what you think you are saving by going to Vista. I have people coming in all the time complaining about them.
Foreign owned company selling by the model of loss leaders. They give away some items for at cost or below in order to upsell you on super high inflated costs on other items. It is really a very dishonest way of doing business. My suggestion would be to partner with a good local printer who is US owned, that will provide you good, honest pricing and service on all items and if they cannot produce efficiently or is not in there wheelhouse, they will refere you to someone else for that specific item. It all about partnership! I have been in the industry for 33 years, sell retail & also predominately sell wholesale to the trade.
Vistaprint serves it's purpose, but it's not for everyone. They run great specials, but usually shipping is extra and if you deviate from the special the price jumps. I recommend going into a print shop for a more hands on approach, or even better, find a good creative company or graphic artist that also is a print broker. Most creative companies, like Creative Chris, don't have a huge print shop so we can offer far better prices on more print products. Usually when we do creative and print we can offer even better deals and have better control over the quality of the end product. I can't tell you how many times I've handed off a job to a printer and it goes South from there. Not every printer knows how to print all print jobs. Print brokers will assign the right printer for the job and achieve better results.

They lure everyone in with low prices. You get what you pay for. Once you up the quality - the price is not competitive. I can't say anything about their quality since I've never found their pricing good enough to actually place an order with them.
