Have you ever considered the cost of replacing a key employee?
Think about your business and the people who drive the most revenue. If something were to happen to them, how long would it take you to replace the income that they would have accounted for? Is your business financially prepared to take on a loss during the replacement process?

Appreciate the question, but we are all family here. Thank you!
Not sure of your point, anyone that has ever been in business long enough to have a KEY employee understands the problems that come with having to replace them periodically. Unfortunately, it's not always something you can control, just part of doing business. You can't let your employees dominate your workplace - treat them fairly, compensate them adequately, train, and lead - then get out of the way. Managing employees has been the worst part of owing/managing a business at least until I realized there are some things you cannot change - life got a lot less stressful afterwards.
There are insurances you can buy to replace anyone. As employers we should pay our employees well, if not with $$ with good benefits so they feel they are valuable to the company and will not leave to better and greener pastures. Studies show that employees would rather have benefits/supplemental benefits rather than a raise in pay. As for your key employee by now I'm sure has now become like family, so there isn't any amount of insurance that can replace them, so the loss will be great and felt in your company.
I have multiple times and have written them for others as well as myself
