I agree with Austin in terms of ease. Then when ready, get a Libsyn account and publish to them, and Libsyn will talk to iTunes, I heart radio, Spotify ... etc. I use Adobe Audition to record and edit the podcast. There are many inexpensive tools such as USB mics that go straight in to your computer.

There are many platform options for hosting a podcast. Buzzsprout, Podbean, ACast, etc, etc. They all have their own unique styles and amenities. Most have free accounts, but, they are limited in ways. Better to pay for an annual account so you can access all of its amenities. Look for one that allows you to automatically link to your social platforms (like Podbean) so you don't have to manually take the time to do that yourself when you publish and episode.

You'll also need some recording software (zoom works ok) and an external mic (don't use your laptop/computer mic), and, a sound processing program to edit your show. GarageBand works well as a basic (and free if you have a Mac) program. There are others that you can pay for (such as Adobe noted below). Descript works well and allows you to transcript the audio into text as well.  It also allows you to edit the audio in text format and take out all filler words like 'um', 'uhh', etc. etc. using AI.

Also, check out PodMatch. It's a great resource for getting started and making connections for hosts/guests. I believe that you need 7 episodes published to join.

I have only one question, to better answer your question. Are you willing to spend the money on proper equipment and pay a service fee for hosting?

I haven’t published anything to podcast, but have investigated the Anchor app. From my initial review of the app they make it really easy to create podcasts, edit them, and publish. Would definitely recommend starting by downloading the app for yourself. Best of luck!

Easiest way to start is by downloading the Anchor App.  It is a very easy to operate recording app, that also allows you to edit and share your podcast.

Through a production company. Someone who has the ability to broadcast or live stream a program or advertisement

Look up Heil Sound. They are a company that makes audio equipment for podcasts.

I also use Libsyn to host and publish my podcast, but I've heard Anchor is easy to use too. I recommend getting a good quality microphone and headphones too.
