How does student shadowing work in your medical office/practice/location?
Students preparing for medical school are instructed to spend dozens of hours just watching doctors do their job. Some hospitals have very stringent requirements. Some have waiting lists that are booked for months in advanced. Most clinics and surgery centers are less complicated and more flexible. Does your practice allow student shadowing? How does it work? Do you enjoy having students shadow you?

Hello Talon, My business is a medical coding company, not a medical practice. Heidi
We love helping students get hours and we help about 45 students a year get unpaid internship hours. We invest time and teach these students a lot about anatomy, movement dysfunction, and how to communicate clearly with patients. We love providing opportunities for students all they have to do is come in and fill out an application and get on the waiting list.
The school typically teaches out to us.
Currently we do not accept interns, but I worked with students @ Community Hospital and found it to be beneficial to both provider and students.
I'm very flexible with that. Ideally the person shadowing is a third year Resident PA or physician by the time they get to Integrative Sports Medicine, LLC in Fort Collins, CO.
