I’d give it low marks overall, but most items should be easy enough fix. Few thoughts:
1. Avoid off-site links in your main navigation. Instead creating landing pages that outline the service and provide link outs to other content.
2. Check layout on mobile device. On my iPhone there is a lot of text and button misalignment.
3. Refine some of the text layouts. The font sizes are too large on smaller screens.
4. Condense some of the white space between sections.
5. Refine content further, provide examples of work, and really focus on how your services helped elevate the clients projects. Eg. More than the testimonial.
Hope that helps and good luck with refinements
Hi John,
I agree with everything Justin Eady said, plus:
1. as he said, definitely get rid of the external URL's on the menu. Create a page about each of those topics and include the external URL's within the individual pages.
2. any external URL's should always open in a new window so the visitor isn't leaving your site.
3. are you able to control the design of the external ordering pages at all? If so, colors, etc. should be changed to coordinate with your main site.
4. is the blue JP graphic at the bottom of the home page your logo? If so, I don't see it anywhere else and the site color palette doesn't coordinate with it. You need to reinforce your brand everywhere.
5. to me, the design is kind of gaudy and looks dated.
6. content on the Offset & Laser Printing pages should be above the form for SEO, and needs to be rewritten in a way that makes people want to order from you. Why you?
7. why do I care about the cost of laser printers? The content on that page is irrelevant to print job customers.
8. why does the Price Quote page not load within the site template.
9. the About Us page has a list of people but no info about any of them so it means nothing to a visitor unless they already know you. If you're going to include the list you should include their pic at the very least, but would be better to have a short writeup about each to make prospective customers feel like they know them.
10. you really need to develop out your content and add new content regularly; that's the #1 way to improve SEO. You say you're a premier shop but the site doesn't reflect that.
Right now you don't really have anything for an honest SEO pro to work with, unless you're looking to hire someone to create that content for you.. Extensive content needs to be created because page titles, etc. mean nothing if search engines don't feel the content is worth sending people to.
You should also start a blog and regularly add short articles about things like projects you've done, changes in your industry, and featured business clients. If you feature a client, make sure to let them know because they're likely to share it on social media for their own exposure.
All of this gives you good search engine indexable content that gives you more chances at matching a search; look at it as kind of like having more raffle tickets in a drawing.
All of this is meant to be constructive criticism, not mean :)
I started my business in Jax in 1996 and moved to VA in 2001; I miss it, and miss my Jaguars! Good luck with everything :)
Best,
Lisa
Good Morning John,
I have some suggestions for you. Before you go further, consider WHY you even want a website? If the primary reason is get new clients, you need to answer this question: Who are your potential clients and what is their primary concern when it comes to direct marketing products? Cost? Quality? Service? Distinctive design? Your website must be written for these clients. Not you!
Because pictures speak louder than words, your homepage should showcase your best products in a simple format that grabs visitors' attention and gets them to pick up the phone.
Last but not least, I would check out your competitors' websites. Much of what I am suggesting you will no doubt see on these sites.
I hope this is helpful. Regards, Marcia
John,
You have a nice WordPress website. However, you have almost no content that qualifies for SEO. You need actual content that talks about your services and products. At least 300 words per page with a specific key word featured for that page. Some of your tabs take you away from your website and that hurts your rankings. Look at our website www.selectmkt.com and see all the pages full of content about what we do. You have hundreds of keywords that need to be targeted for your business. You are addressing none of them. We can help and provide SEO for most of our clients. Contact us if you are interested. [email address]
Looks like you have some links with weird URLs in them, which will kill conversions when people see them. I also saw your main buttons are very generic with nothing more then a stake "click me" which is very 1990s design.
Before even looking at your SEO, I'd start with going over your site's contents and design to make sure you're set up to convert. You'll get no advantage to ranking #1 on a site that won't convert the traffic into leads or customers well.
I ran your site through my website evaluation form and we really need to go over the results on a call for you to get the best results out of it. Based on my analysis, your site rated a 1.2/5 overall, but that would mean more to you with the full analysis and explanation. Feel free to connect with me here, and send me an email to [email address] so we can set up a time.
Once we've got your website set up to convert, we can look more seriously at the SEO. I do host a regular webinar series on SEO which you're welcome to attend. I just finished today's SEO webinar a couple of hours ago, but I'll be posting a recording of it to YouTube later so you can still pick it up. I have 1 of these webinars up already and you're welcome to check it out at https://youtu.be/hUVld_KlHfQ
Hi John,
Taking a quick look at your site, it seems you may still be in the middle of a redesign as some links go to another domain. There are many items that need a correcting. If you're interested in a consultation, feel free to email us at: [email address].
John,
I think it's a rough draft that needs a number of things. Luckily, you're in good hands with the folks who commented below. I can't add much except I'd like to know what you think of uprinting.com's web site?
It's easy to browse, they post their pricing, and a graphic designer can post the job and expect a speedy turnaround. I think they're the one to beat.
Good luck!
Peter
Ok i am gonna be honest with you. There is no consistency across the website. For instance When i goto price quote, the menu and footer is gone. I have seen someone mention this, but what message do you want to bring across? Then on the front page it looks like the page ends and then you see the testimonials. First the design has to represent your company and services. 80% of traffic will end up on the front page. You will have about 7 sec. to get them interested in your company and services before they leave. The menu option "Promotional Products" where it leaves the page is not good in my opinion. When i leave your website, why not directly order there? Maybe there is a way to put product in shopping cart on your own website. As far as SEO the front page picture for SEO is to large it needs to be compressed and some small other things i can see quickly. But I wouldnt worry about SEO right now till the website layout and info is done. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
It looks like an unfinished WordPress site and not very engaging.
Typography is on the plain side.
Your call to actions are small and get lost on the page.
I would at least add a slider to the header area to display your work.
John- Honestly I would say if you actually paid anything for that website you were ripped off. SEO should not be on your radar right now, you need a website that people will engage with, your current site is not that site.
