We are excited with the Chamber of Commerce. They started a Snow Ball event. What you do is sign up which we did. How it works is the person who has to snowball another business delivers a gift of , home made baked goods, a gift basket or coffee, whatever you want. That business then has to pay it forward to another business of tier choice, We gave our to the Town Butcher who gives every month approx. $1000. of food to families in need . They had a fundraiser for food hampers a few days ago and we donated 2 large gift baskets to them for a silent auction. This year they were able to give 40 lovely hampers to needy families including gifts for the kids. This company deserves to be recognized for sure. They care about our community. I give fresh baked goods I make and bring them to some of the seniors homes locally to share a little Christmas spirit with our valuable seniors who make up part of our community. There are some who have no-one who comes to visit so this is a way I feel I am able to say hello and thank you for being so special.
We recently worked with the local chapter of the United Way to provide service in our local area. If any one is looking for opportunities to serve others near you, you might check out the website: www.justserve.org People can put in service project needs and then you can look them up based on your zip code to find something near you.
During this time of the year we work to build lives by empowering those that work for us to stay working for us while the season comes to a close. Asphalt plants shut down in December, they will not reopen until late March - April. As our business grows we hope to be able to give more and we are fully aware that giving is greater than receiving. We strive to give as much as we can.

Hi Leah, sorry for the delayed response. (The Alignable email went into my Spam folder for some reason.) Yes, at the United Way of the Desert we are giving back... always. :) We provide our partner programs with funding throughout the year. We also distribute toys and books to children during the holiday season and at other times of the year. If you'd like to email me other questions I can be reached at [email address].
Yes, our office participates in the Can a Thon - food drive and our office is a drop off point for Toys for Tots. Individually I work with a group of women that have a dinner and Christmas tree decorating at a home for foster children.
Here at Food for Thoughts Cards we give back during the holiday season and EVERY DAY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR! For every bread-outlined giving-back greeting card sold by Food for Thoughts, the cash equivalent of one peanut butter and jelly sandwich is donated to an organization that feeds the hungry:
Mignon Lagatta, owner of Mignon Lagatta Real Estate formed a giving group called Thank You Ma'am Reno. The goal is to have 100 women donating $100 totaling $10,000 quarterly going towards a voted on local charity. The first meeting raised $2,500 that will be donated and presented to Awaken, Communities United to end Sex Trafficing.
For Thanksgiving we donated, and volunteered with operation turkey to help feed 2000 homeless. For Christmas we will be working with blue santa. I also donate regularly to the Austin Disaster relieve fund. In the spring I like to sponsor a little league team. I donate every year to the blind school, the school for the deaf, The Travis county sheriff's possee, and Emancipet, the international fellowship of Christians and Jews, and I carry canned foods, and water in my truck every day for the folks on the street corner. I love giving back!

We always give back --each product bought triggers a donation to a child in need....

Through my Mary Kay I personally give 10% of my income to fund One Soldier at a Time.
One Soldier at a Time and our supporters just wrapped 840 gifts to put into 70 baskets and delivered to local military moms and wives for Christmas.
