How do I let other business owners see and experience what I do? Offer complimentary services?

I personally believe those of us in alternative medicine give far too much away for free, which ends up cheapening our service and our image in the public eye - almost like we have to prove ourselves. I prefer to network and build relationships with other business owners and healthcare practitioners in the area. I don't mind giving a free talk at a senior center or big event with large potential for return, but I don't do free individual phone consults.

Need to have them come to you.  Two things to think about 1.  Have an audience that you are building  2.  Have a compelling offer that is attractive to your right audience.  Strategize first, do tactics later.  Be the general in your business who strategizes.  Never compromise on this rightful position you hold in your own company.  Clarify your value in the market, clarify your target market. 2 cents from me - without knowing your business.  Business marketing is complicated - but if you embrace the complexity and have a dialogue with others like me - willing to dive deep and ask meaningful and focused questions (without just following everyone else), then you will cook with nuclear love fuel.  Hope that helps.

What I do is very different and hard to describe. It must be experienced. So, for me, offering complimentary session is necessary. Once a person has an experience, they love it, come back, and refer others. However, to really work, you must come from your heart and not just your head. Everyone can feel whether you're genuine, truly interested in the person, or in it to 'win it,' 'make more money, etc. By saying that, there's nothing wrong with earning a great income but important for heart to be primary. Hope this helps answer your question.

Hi there! I agree with the other commenters here that offering complimentary services is a slippery slope — you want to make sure your time is valued.

Some ways of getting the word out about how you help:

Create and Post Videos:

1) Intro video about you and your company, speaking directly to your ideal client.

2) Dispel common myths and misconceptions about your field.

3) Educate your audience about how your healing modality helps clients reach their health goals.

Host Live Events:

1) Offer to do Zoom presentations at professional associations.

2) Host workshops or webinars sharing the most useful tools you share with clients.

Share via your email list, here on Alignable, on a YouTube channel, wherever your ideal clients and your ideal referral sources can find you.

Best of luck! If you need additional marketing support I help therapists and health professionals build their practices. Here's more info: https://www.awakentheself.com/...

I agree with others who have advised against offering complimentary services.  People pay for what they value and giving your services away for free decreases your value in their eyes. Your time and energy are worth something!

For me the greatest source of referrals is other healthcare providers and service providers. I encourage all of my patients to tell their other doctors they are being treated by me and over time I have received countless referrals from doctors, physical therapists, personal trainers, yoga teachers, etc, many of whom I have never met. And of course let your current patients or clients know that you are continuing to grow your practice and let them know about everything you have to offer.

As a Certified Professional Life and Leadership Coach, I am in the practice of giving complimentary sessions to all potential clients. It is one way to see if I am right for them and also, if I they are right for me. It is part of my relationship building practice. I am happy to offer them this gift where they are able to feel heard fully and completely.

I feel like the more you give, the more you get. The energy you put out will be the energy you receive.

We tell our clients in their very first meeting with us that we grow our business purely through personal introduction so they are never caught off guard when we ask them. We have also found that the language matters - many people do not like the term referral but really like "personal introduction".

Once a client does introduce a new lead, we always reward that good behaviour with either a basket from Tina at Memorable Gift or a GC to a local business.

NO, no, no, don't offer complimentary services, build relationships. For me, I value the relationship over the marketing of a complimentary service. I have working relationships with a myriad of providers and it has benefited all of us but most importantly, it has benefited the patient!

I ask for referrals usually by sharing or sending this--https://express.adobe.com/page...  If I have a happy student or agency, I ask them to connect me with people that THEY personally love and care about that they think would benefit from my services.  A three way text to introduce me is perfect and I will send a thank you gift to the referrer.
