What collaboration and sharing management tool would you recommend for an intranet platform. eXo, Jive?

The platform I recommend, under contract,  depends on what my clients specifically intend to do with it.

I use a combination of Basecamp and the Google suite. Basecamp keeps my email inbox from overflowing––and prevents important notices and to-dos from getting lost. I love that I can access everything for one client in one space. The Google suite is important as well, particularly for multiple collaborators on a document. Good luck!

WOW - above my pay grade!  :-)  I don't have anything I can rave about to share.  BEST OF LUCK in figuring this out!

I would recommend SharePoint, or Office 365.  It supports both internal and external users, data privacy (GDPR), and already connects with many of the tools that people use.  The challenge with using platforms such as eXo, Jive and others is that they do a few things really well (perhaps better) but lack the capabilities needed have been developed over two decades of development.  If you need collaboration, control, data privacy, records management, integration with office tools, workflows, ad-hoc teams, sites, lists, and so on you can have it now and don't have to wait for the other platforms to develop them.

I have good experiences with both Glip by RingCentral and Slack personally.

It really depends on what you want to do. There are many pieces to the collaboration/intranet equation. It depends on what pieces, or aspects, you want to implement. I use and manage SharePoint every day as part of the main duties of my 9-5 job. It's definitely a love-hate relationship. For many basic tasks or solutions that people require, you often have to get into custom development with SharePoint. This quickly gets beyond basic users who just want to get there work done and collaborate with each other. I feel that with SharePoint, we end up focusing too much on the tool and not able to focus on work and communication.

There are several great alternatives to SharePoint out there. Some do more. Some do less. One that I recommend that is fully loaded and comparable to SharePoint is Communifire, by Axero. It is super simple to use yet very comprehensive and it is very inexpensive. Even if you have to pay someone to set it up, it's cheaper as far as cost and time compared to SharePoint. These are just my opinions after having used these tools for many years. Let me know if you want more information.

Sorry, I can’t help you

Don’t have that vocabulary

Slack in combo with Google’s suite is what I personally use and recommend to clients 👍🏼👍🏼
