I'm sceptical, anytime someone wants to bind you to a processing solution with software.
It looks very convenient. I see it will take applepay. Will it also take cryptocurrency transactions as this technology becomes main stream?
Point is very good for what it was designed to do It will support many things pay at the table is just one, email marketing and much more I recommend it for small to medium size businesses. And it is supported by many top processors it's a winner.
My understanding is the Poynt isn't actually a POS, so if you're looking for full POS system, i would recommend looking elsewhere.
I have not used it. Be well.
Gary,
Smart terminals are definitely the way to go in the payment processing industry. Not only are they PCI compliant (saving you chargeback disputes and monthly fees), but they accept everything. Our favorite, though, is the Smart EMV Terminal because it accepts EMV chip, magnetic stripe, NFC-enabled phones, mobile wallets, Apple watch, checks, and it captures digital signatures. We also offer it to you for free if you have a high enough monthly sales history.

The Poynt smart terminal is the best thing ever, you are free to use whatever POS software you already use and yes it works with a variety of different processors including Payvida Solutions Inc. You can also keep track of employee hours, sales information, inventory stock and much more. You will be able to track your customers as well know what they bought last time with the third-party apps the possibilities are endless with the Poynt.
I appreciate your reply Gary. They also don't reply to inquiries...
Haven't had any experience with this system
It’s not something we use in our industry. Sorry.
