Referrals. On Jan 4 it will be 2 years since I joined Gold Star Referral Clubs. When I started I had been on my own for 3 years and had 42 clients. Last year I had 95 clients ( a handful were referrals from existing clients). This year I bought a retiring tax pros business and have had commitments from other Gold Star members and I expect about 325 clients minimum this year. As of Jan 1 I will have 8 bookkeeping clients. I went from subleasing an office to my own 800sq ft office with a reception area, a conference room, an office to sublease out, and my own office. It isnt just about the referrals either. It is about me learning. I have grown and my self confidence has blossomed. I believe in it so much that I am now the director of one chapter.
Face-to-face networking. Business moves at the speed of trust. Being truly involved in two Chambers of Commerce along with hosting and regularly attending several networking groups in my first few years of business were key to getting people to know, like & trust me. When you approach every connection as an opportunity to really learn how to help each other it makes all of the difference. The more you give, the more you get.
The type of advertising with the best rate of return is based on the industry. In real estate, word of mouth is great but internet advertising is key. There are multiple platforms to do so such as Realtor.com, Zillow, Trulia, etc. But, the secret to growing your business is once the relationship is established, staying connected is a must. Client databases help with a large number of clients or customers but a hand written note occasionally is what will set you apart!
Saleslogy being a marketing agency, we have seen multiple ways our clients earning a good return on the services we offer. For instance, our digital coupon marketing campaign, our online reputation management service along with lead nurturing automation combining with lead generation has yielded our client's success in growing their sales.
There is only so much you can do word of mouth, there is only so much you can do referrals, but let's face it, they are not always enough for the growth that all would like. If you sticking to certain elements of marketing and not using multiple touchpoints to create awareness, attract, engage, convert and close, then I am not sure how you will be able to take your business to the next level in our opinion.
So, all my friends on Alignable, growth comes from reaching your clients using multitouch point strategy. If you desire to grow your business, then you need to add multi-channel approach.
Fortunately, with technology, it is not expensive nowadays. Pretty much anyone can create a mix and execute to attract a good result.
You might find this interesting. I am in the business of getting people to use their web presence and advertise in places like social media and search engines. My best sources of business have come from two places: referrals and leads from my writings, which include answering questions like this on forums.
so to date I’m editing my answer...hard work ..preserverance ...patience..be true to your self..offer the best service you can and the good clients will come and recommend you for the quality of your work. Also, I am in a studio with multiple studios In a two story building...I slipped a flyer we made up under all the hairdressers doors..got a phone call the next morning and request for a gift certificate for his wife For Valentine’s Day ...so get out there and let people know who you are and what you offer...it will happen. Focus on quality ...it is recognized.
