it isn't a choice between the two options given. Do what gets you to  your objective. Marketing is best defined as: 1. Go where the money is (targeting and using the appropriate media) 2. Sell what they want to buy. (products, pricing, distribution channel) Do it again. (if you keep track of what works and how well you can predict results.)

This is like asking, "What's more important to you at this time of year: eating out at restaurants or fresh salads?"

Restaurants are an option of where you can go to eat. Salads are an option of what you can eat.

A video is one of many content development options you can produce for customer consumption. Email or direct mail (not sure what you mean about mailings) is one of many channels for distributing the content or driving content awareness.

It's not an either/or. Content needs distribution.

Barry, you're dealing with apples and oranges here. Both are effective, but for different purposes and time. For local or regional awareness DM can prove to be the media of choice. Videos  function on two levels. If you know your market accesses social media it should ideally be used as the supporting initiative to the DM.

The video can often be used as a follow up to responses. Placing the video on your website for prospects to access can be a qualifying process for interesting prospects. DM requires a flight of 3 to impact your market. The video placed on your website is not only a supporting media for the DM, but is always at-the-ready to provide info and direction.

Video.  I don't do mailings.  Video is much more effective.

Both this is the time to really hit your market as everybody is fighting for the consumer dollar. Valentines is perfect to short for a promotion

because they have to request to see the video.  direct mail opens the door for the video. the important thing is to target market, otherwise you are wasting both the mail and the video. you don't send retirement info. to a high school graduation list.

Hello Barry,  Good question.  Why not use some of both?  https://www.useloom.com/

Nothing that in order to get the information, is likely to unduly prolong one's trying to access it.

Absolutely video, so many different social mediums to share it on. Mailing in the last 18 months have dropped to an open rate of 3-5% if your lucky.  Also the ROI on videos eclipses that of mailings hands down.

Video blows mail away! It's more efficient in time and cost. Not to mention the drastic difference in reach. Sharing, questions and answers can be seen by all the pros far outweigh the cons. Much success to you.
