The value of good health is priceless. You have to assign a budget to it. Positive or income: exercise, activity, nutrition and mental health. Negative or expenses: disease, cost of medications and doctor visits, lack of independence, poor nutrition, days lost sick, lack of energy, poor self exteem... We have budgets for shopping, vacation, retirement, going ou etc. Do we have one for our health?
Since it is nothing you can sell as in my good health, the value is what meaning I put on it. Good health means I can do more things, like spend time with my dog, go travelling, write songs, help others, and much more. My own willingness is looking for truths and a simple way to be well. Good health is simple and possible, and not a complicated structured day with 20 supplements. Simple.
The value of good health is immeasurable, and I found it accidentally! Knowing now what it truly feels like to feel great, after too many years of thinking how I felt was "normal" I make myself and my health a priority every single day. I think the most important things people who are looking to improve their health need to do is keep an open mind and do their research.
At almost 69, the value of my good health is I can still run my organic farm, still dance, play with my great grandchildren, still see clients as a GAPS Pract. and I don’t waste time in doctors offices.
What I do to keep my good health is the same thing I have done for almost 40 years. I stay away from mainstream grocery stores, mainstream doctors offices, teach God’s good nutrition, take vitamins, but no prescription medicines, run my farm, enjoy friends, love God and my family and daily play outside with my drop-off dog and my 100% Grassfed Red Devon Cattle.
That is the ultimate question isn't it Pat? Personally I would do whatever it takes to achieve the level of health that keeps me active and fit and enjoying life to the fullest! If you don't have your health nothing else matters.
Good health means a healthy body and healthy mind. These things are inseparable, and are the basis of a happy, fulfilling life. This goal must be a priority, just like we prioritize our family/social lives and careers. If we don't do this, we run the risk of slowing down considerably in our middle years, just when we should be ramping up our achievements and happiness. There is no reason we should slog through the second half of our lives because we believe declining health and energy is inevitable.
Having gone from poor health back to good health, I'd say it's invaluable. How can you fully enjoy the other good things in life if you don't feel well?
Too many people lose their health as they chase their wealth, then spend all their wealth trying to regain their health. Yet it is relative easy to maintain good health, proper eating habits, about 4 hours per week of proper exercise, will add years to your life, and life to your years.
