Actually, as an agency, the greatest challenge is not finding clients, but having sufficient hands available for some of the tedium of the business. Please don't get me wrong, we all love what we're doing, and making certain our clients are ecstatic is our utmost concern. There is routine in every business, and someone has to do it. Making sure we have all hands on deck (almost literally) is a must-do for me.
Great question and one that every small business owner needs to address. Our biggest struggle is ourselves. As business owners we need to be in the know. Which doesn't mean we need to know everything. It is better to know who you are and how your business operates than to know everything. Accountants, cleaners, customer care specialists, sales teams, engineers... are all available to us in a variety of ways that can help us. It is better to know you and how you can facilitate the efficiency of your business. Therefore take small business classes, marketing classes, get in touch with therapists to help you know you. With the knowledge that you gain from business classes and the help you get from a therapist will help you round out your knowledge of your business and create a firm foundation in you. Without you there is no business. Get you out of your own way and your business will succeed.
Find new clients is always a struggle. We work with primarily SMB so either they don't know what to do or choose to do it themselves. In a way, we appeal to a niche market. Those that are small enough and do not have a marketing department, yet big enough that they can afford to outsource it.
