When I was actively selling real estate, I designed a house shaped magnet with standard kitchen measurements on them (F - C, Tbsp to cups, meat cooking temps). I had them custom made. I had people calling me years later asking for new ones as theirs had gotten grungy after 5 years of use. I know it got me listings. I later found a similar one in a marketing catalogue from the company I had custom make mine. I'm sure they stole my idea as they weren't making them before that.LOL

Most effective promo product.

Well that is really easy, Travel Mugs and cleaning clothes for glasses, computer screens, cell phones etc. These two items are always with people.  These items have good value for your dollar, but must be of high quality. You don't want your  logo associated with a poor product, this reflects poorly on your business. Do your research first.

When I was in retail.. I bought Key-Chains.  Loved them.  These days I am B2B at shows and events I give away ear bud sets.

Rubber jar openers for the construction trades. Gave about 20 away, then handed them out to the next 80 that asked for them.

We tend to move "past" product first -- we think it sends people down the wrong road searching for the best or trendiest product when they should first consider "what" it is they want to do and who they wanna be (when they grow up LOL!).  For instance, we had an obvious goal (get our clients to do business with us) AND experience our off-beat culture.  So instead of focussing totally on product, we thought about how we could share our culture.  It was the first few weeks of the year -- January.  Time for resolutions. Time for positivity.  So we designed a tongue-in-cheek brand about "Conquering" the world made a logo that was "Top Secret" but not really.  Then we searched for the best retail-style (always lean to retail inspired if you can) Journal with a pen.  We thought "its new years, time to write stuff down."  What's not to love about getting a "Top Secret Plans to Rule the World" journal in the first few weeks of Jan?  Apparently our clients agreed! We got loads of emails thanking us and even better -- wanting to buy that EXACT journal for their company.  With the same logo.  Boom, mission accomplished.

Ironically, digital marketing in the form of an email campaign to a very specific demographic within a very specific geographic region yielded me the highest ever ROI. Emails last forever and even when being deleted, they're being read. I've done programmatic with great success, but Ad content and design is absolutely critical when targeting IP addresses within regional areas. If it's not animated, with an effective call to action and moving parts, bright colors and clickable, the CTR is too low to justify the cost. Digital marketing is great when done consistently and thoughtfully. The days of static block Ads that say nothing other than "Here we are" and the shallow, useless reporting that comes with it, are over. Businesses expect to actually convert clicks to revenue and if that's not happening within 3-6 months, you've gotta change something. Email campaigns are very effective though, when sent to the right people - meaning people who've "opted-in" to receive information about certain products and services. The trick is to find a digital company that has access to such a data base. NXC Media is owned by Adams Publishing Group, which has presence in 11 different states and owns over 300 newspapers, websites and publications that have empowered them with a base of "opted-in" customers that's over 1.6 Million strong. So that data is incredibly valuable and yields results when properly utilized.

I made business cards the size of postcards and on the back a description of what my company specializes in .

We have a Promotional Products division here. We have very nice folio pads 5" x 7" approx. with debossed logo. We give them to 1st appointment meetings, the response is always great.
