The Service of "Pride of Profession"

Pride of Profession exudes all of the what I call the "Big 5" and something more. The "more" that I speak of is Professionalism. Professionalism is a way of Professional life, everything that runs through your hands will carry with it a seal of Professional quality that can't be surpassed. It's always investing, updating your qualifications as well as Mentoring others to better service your Clients. Outstanding service also lives in the "Pride of Profession".

The "Big 5" is listed below:

1. Attitude

2. Ethics

3. Caring

4. Invest

5. Respect

In those 5 Attributes encompass all the moralities needed to be an impeccable Realtor. Always strive to be the best you can be, your only letting yourself down if you don't.

Just one Professionals' two bits worth!

In my experience, the two most important things a realtor can provide are market insight, and negotiation skills. When hiring a professional, a client expects him, or her to have fluency with the most relevant data (general, and nuanced) far beyond what can be obtained by the layperson from a Google search. A good agent can and should curate and process relevant market data on a regular basis to share with clients.

Additionally, a buyer or a seller expects their agent to help buy for less, or sell for more than they could have on their own. Having an agent who is a top notch negotiator provides a tangible value in the form of money saved, or earned. I have found that even my clients that are great negotiators themselves (trial attorneys for example) take comfort in having a less biased expert to hash out the details with parties at the other end of the table.

Hope that helps.

REALTORS ~

Would it be beneficial to offer a Continuing Ed class on Construction Knowledge. I've been a GC for 16 years before I got into RE and gave it up and I'm amazed at how little construction knowledge most agents have. If you could take a CE class on this would it be worth going through the RE Commission to try to put into place? Thoughts? TIA

I just purchased a home in 2016. I started with one realtor, we looked at the property and I decided I would like to purchase it. The property had an old mobile home that needed to be moved and I was going to do a construction loan to build a new home. I asked the First realtor "where do I get started?" She indicated that I just need to go to the bank and get financing. I asked is there one bank that is better than another she said, I don't know. Well I could not find a bank that would accept what I wanted to do with little down payment. So I kinda gave up. As I was sitting at my desk and a client who is a realtor came in, I picked his brain. He gave me all sorts of advice as to who to talk to as far as banks, loan departments, USDA loans and how the worked, prefab home dealers and the list goes on and on. At the same time he was contracting the sellers realtor to set up an appointment to go look at the property. Well I did get financed with the USDA. I got a great deal on a home from a dealer he referred me to. He also gave me the steps of what needed to be done from having an appraisal, who to call for a water test, what to do about electric and so much more. I am not saying he knows how to do all the work but steered me in the right direction to get the work done. If it wasn't for him I would not have purchased this property. I am so thankful for his knowledge of how to purchase a home, get financed and who to call for work and all the other help. He was not doing this for the commision, he was doing this because he likes to help people buy homes.

Know your market and what it is going to take to obtain your client's goals - do the research and be honest with your client whether good or bad news, no matter what. Educate your client to the market. Stay in constant contact - communication is paramount. Set the stage with your client as to what they can expect from you, how you will stay in touch and talk to them about their expectations and what realistic expectations might be in your local market. Don't over promise!

Clients are looking to us for information and truth. That's how trust can be earned and respect gained.

Safety. People want to feel safe in the area (s) they are looking to move their family ( children) into. One of the best things a realtor could do is inform their clients the place (s) is where the good places to live are.

First a realtor should listen to the requests of the customer and do not argue.

Next a realtor should know industry terms. I do, most do not.

Next be willing to work and then work. After a letter on intent pending inspection , arrange it, full means full not 30% of the structure. If you can not do this, do not waste my time. I bring my own people with me to conduct inspections. I do not want to waste their time either.

Next provide the information of the neighborhood I am requesting.

I have had realtors in other states that did not desire to work with me because they were afraid of the deal. If you are going to be afraid of the price tag, I do not need you. I need one with a backbone.

I had to go back to the local person I work with to locate a person in another state for me, someone who is not afraid to get hands on.

The most important service an Real Estate professional can provide is his or her expertise and knowledge of the current market along with honesty when working with the client.

When working with a seller doing your homework will help that home quickly for the best price possible. Over pricing the home can cause it to sit on the market, only to reduce the price after it doesn't get any traffic. The longer it sits on the market the less likely it is to get the price you want. Multiple offers can drive the price up but the home still needs to appraise.

Pre-qualifying a buyer for financing is also necessary before looking at homes. No sense to look at $1,000,000 homes when they can only afford a $424,100 mortgage. I help people achieve their goals and find the home of their dreams.
