How We Got Started

After working in the corporate world of New York City, I wanted a profession that would allow me to balance caring for my children and offer value to others, while providing a flexible schedule for both clients and family—a career that would continue to grow as my children did. With a BS in Architectural Technology and a passion for layouts and design, I could also help clients visualize the potential in a property. Having a career spanning over 20+ years, I can say I’ve had the best of both worlds. From the start, I knew this was the right career for me, and through continued success, I’ve been able to balance work and family while showing my children that you pursue a career you love at any stage of life
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with both buyers and sellers, guiding them through one of their most significant and emotional transactions. I deeply appreciate their trust and loyalty, and I take pride in maintaining long-lasting, meaningful relationships with every client.

We actually had been using this method, but have added to the process to ensure safety and efficiency for all. When showing homes, I take proper precautions with gloves, booties, maskes, wipes, etc... There are also disclosures in place for everyone's protection. Buyers and sellers seem to be perceptive to new ways of doing business, as Real Estate is proving to move foreward, and I am happy to do my part.

I confirmed all appointments with listing agencies. To my surprise, one of the owners apparently was not notified or at least did not get the message. Always knocking first before accessing the keybox and entering the home, we did just that. Moving onward in the home we come to the bedrooms. Upon entering the master bedroom, I realized the bundle of covers on the bed started to move. Startled I let out a scream, which was mimicked by the person sleeping. As I was about to close the door while apologizing for the inconvenience, the person sleeping quickly jumped out the window and might I add, not fully clothed. Needless to say, it was a good thing the house was a ranch style with only 1 floor. He never listened to his messages. No matter how prepared, expect the unexpected and just go with it. It makes for a good story and we moved onto the next home. My clients and I still talk about that when catching up.

I find my networking works best when just having regular conversations during the day. It could be in a business setting, at my children's activities, the gym, or even on a long line at the grocery store. Sometimes making an analogy between a certain situation and Real Estate works...it keeps the conversation lighthearted. When you are around others in these settings, you already have something in common, so just use that as a starting point and go from there. There always seems to be some way to introduce what you do. It also doesn't need to be in your first conversation, if you know you will see them regularly. Then introducing your business does not feel awkward. Just keep moving forward and good luck. It will all fall into place.

However, I do know that in addition to my company branding, I rely on the reviews of my past and current clients for future business. No matter how much the competition may try to use your ideas, reviews cannot be fabricated nor imitated, as they come directly from the your clients. We all offer some overlapping services in our professions with competitors, so it is important for others to hear from your clients and what sets you apart from the rest. When reviews of your customer service is acknowledged and read by new consumers, they will be able to make an informed decision of who is the expert in your field. Also, asking past clients for reviews will show your longevity in your business which speaks volumes, as well.

Therefore, I say that you should disclose to them what you are going through. You might have bad and good days, and those close appreciate being able to understand. Like yourself, many are willing and seek a way to assist others, especially when it is close to home. You might find that the weight you carry around of concealing it will be lifted and might assist in the healing process.

You can leave more of a lasting impression when you are engaged in a conversation. I tend to find that those that I reach out to are more involved in our communication and not just skimming through what they read on the internet. Yes, the internet is a more convenient way to do business, and is the way of the world now, but that does not work for all. I would rather discuss than just get a standard reply to one of my emails, and we sometimes do not even know if the message has been delivered. Also, it's good that the public knows how well we can work with them...sometimes it's just about the personality and you cannot get that from the internet.
