Thank you for asking input on this question. I hope sharing my 2020 experience will be helpful to others.... I have always had 2 "trajectories" in business. One is creating marketing plans, websites, promo pieces etc. I spoke at conferences and always got plenty of new clients from those conferences. This year- the conferences were virtual but I was "introduced" as a co-host and then people set up appointments with me via calendly. These "discovery sessions" served as their way to "meet" me and decide if we were a match. I have done 8 websites and multiple marketing pieces with this approach. Work volume was down but I am happy with the work flow in this area of my income.
The 2nd trajectory of my business is "esoteric". For the past 20 years- Pre- covid, I offered in- person sessions with individuals to help them identify and eliminate the "hidden blocks" to their success in business or relationships etc. We then work to replace those past blocks with new thought, behavior and practices...
Happily, I have been successful in "converting" my in-person clients to Zoom sessions to achieve the same results. I wasn't sure people would adjust to not seeing me in person- but it has worked out fine. I always worked on a referral basis. Interestingly- past clients from years ago have reached out to me during covid to help with coping etc. These were clients from 3 different states!
I look forward to reading what other folks have found to be successful.
