The internet has done a great job at connecting the on-line consumer to the low-priced vendor on many "commoditized" products and services. This arm's length relationship between buyer and seller, favored by younger people, fails to deal with 75% of products and services, which have not been commoditized by algorithms.
A more direct personal relationship between buyer and "knowledgable" vendor, can introduce a myriad of solutions which are far cheaper and more productive than "the lowest price" on the internet. This personal relationship is what creates "customer loyalty". To the detriment of younger buyers, who choose to only buy on their mobile phone, 75% of "better deals" are unavailable to them. As a consequence, "knowledgable" vendors are becoming scarce, as they lose marketshare to algorithms.
