First I concur that you need to take care of yourself first, you have to heal and work through your grieve in order to help other families.
What about setting up a go-fund me site to help the families that are in need until you can take the project back yourself?
In my own business which I am developing, if I do not have the time to move forward, I leave it on hold until I am ready to push forward again. Because once it is live, then I need to be fully ready to move forward.
