Innovative Earth Inc was established and founded by Dennis Battig of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Dennis had purchased a small acreage lot in 2007 and started researching different types of building methods for a home. He researched and compared straw bale construction, ICF, conventional stick frame homes and stabilised Rammed Earth. Rammed Earth construction intrigued his spark for efficiency and sustainability. He weighed the pros and cons and found that it was the most healthy, efficient, durable, low maintenance, and aesthetically beautiful building product. In 2007 he enrolled in a Rammed Earth course and established Innovative Earth Inc. to build his first stabilised Rammed Earth house in late 2007.
