For a photographer, it's clear that the most desired thing that prospective customers will want to see is your past work, but people mentally relate photography to superb graphic design, therefore your website design has to be very aesthetically pleasing and modern, otherwise people will think you are a bad photographer. That's just how it works. You'll also need a great portfolio showcase on your website. Beyond that, Instagram will probably need to be your best friend. Set up your account, define some branding guidelines for yourself, and create calendars outlining when you should post what photos and with what captions. Create campaigns that a loyal following can look forward to within your brand (for instance, have "nature photo Thursdays" or "what do you see in this photo Wednesdays", etc.) You will want to have at least a small boosting budget to extend your reach. This should get you off to a decent start over time. Also, I should not that you mention that once your website is completed, you will be on search engines through SEO. You should be listed on search engine results pages, yes, but how high you rank will depend on how much competition you have, how much information and content you give, and how much Google trusts you, which is a whole different discussion. I won't get into that here, but just be aware that it's normally not easy to be ranked where you want to be ranked.

Groupon does not normally solve the same business objectives that Facebook's ad platform does. Groupon can help you by generating lots of leads for you if you are willing to sell your products at a heavily discounted price for some period of time. If you are looking to obtain a customer base, and more importantly, you have time and effort to run initiatives to attempt to convert these leads into returning customers who will pay (close to) full price, then Groupon may be a great investment for you. On the other hand, Facebook ads can help you accomplish a much more broad selection of business objectives, including engagement, website traffic, general brand awareness, and so on, depending on the type of ads that you run. So really, the answer is dependant on what your business objectives are.

The most important item that you want to change is your headline—Maury Kosh is correct. This is the most valuable real estate you have on your website; you need to use it to convey unique value you can offer or a reason why people should choose you over your competition (a statement that intrigues, capture attention and causes a person to want to investigate your website further).
There are also aesthetic issues that should be corrected. Your spacing is off: there is too much spacing in some areas and not enough separating other areas. The font you use is very generic and does not help you create a branded, professional look. Also when some links are clicked, the look of the new page is completely different than the previous, resulting in an unprofessional, inconsistent experience and confusion from the visitor as to if they are still on the same website. You have done a good job overall, but to take it to the next level you may have to get a marketing professional involved to assist with the right branding and messaging details.
