For those that don't qualify for a significant subsidy on the Marketplace, I recommend a high deductible short term plan with additional supplemental plans to fill in the gaps. usually about 1/2 the cost of an ACA plan with more flexibility. Compliance is very important in the personal insurance business. HIPAA, FWA and AML rules are ever-changing and updating with time and technology. (more) Compliance is very important in the personal insurance business. HIPAA, FWA and AML rules are ever-changing and updating with time and technology. Each year I am required to certify through study and testing to keep up with being compliant. I work with clients in the medicare space as well as those looking for affordable health coverage that are under 65 years old. Certifications for both areas are rigorous and must be done on an annual basis.  In addition, carrying a state insurance license requires that I complete a certain amount of continuing education hours every two years in order to stay up-to-date and compliant.
