Know where you’re headed, have a plan and a goal. Don’t jump into something just because it looks, easy, fun, etc. Do your research, talk to others in the business. While ultimately you will do things your way, you can learn and avoid pitfalls from others. Once you’ve done all this and you’re ready to make the leap, be sure you have bookkeeping, scheduling, etc in place, get whatever licensing and insurance that’s required and be sure you have a great CPA!
