About Us

I build affordable websites for the small business person. My main focus is on service-based businesses that are on tight budgets but need a web presence to compete with other companies already on the Internet.

How We Got Started

I actually got started about 3 years ago. Prior to that I was in the workforce working as a software engineer for Lenovo.

After being laidoff my wife and I moved back to this area (from North Carolina). During that time I started learning WordPress and CSS to build websites and to stay busy. It was not long before I was building websites for friends and neighbors, which led to me deciding to take the freelance plunge a few years ago.

I am still building my business, but I enjoy working with small business people because I am able to help get them in a position to be more competitive by having an affordable web presence.

I also take pride in the fact that I am able to work closely with my clients because I am a one man show.

Yes, I too would agree that ‘copy’ may not be the best word choice here.  And I also agree with the use of the word ‘model’ instead. And lastly, the truth is that even if someone followed the same path the results are not guaranteed to yield the same results.

With that being said, there is still business out there we just have to work a little harder to get it.Another suggestion is to maybe consider a particular niche.Maybe you may want to concentrate on building websites for the Bread & Breakfast or Accounting niches. Another thing I do is to actually 'cold contact' potential customers by prospecting in my local area.I try to find people who have an old website that is not Responsive (there are many still out there) and then contact them about updating their websites so that they can be more competitive. It takes a little salesmanship (which is not my strong suite) but I have had some success. Bottom line is that it's much more challenging today than before, but you have to be able to adapt and be persistent. Hope that helps some.

In this way I can speak with people about getting a website (my target group or those without a site), but I usually get some folks who already have a site as well. I find that face-to-face is a pretty solid approach to getting business. But it does require getting "out there" and meeting others.Which is not always easy. Hope that hips. Victor

When you're talking email or social media as the building strategy, I've found it much more difficult. But it is possible. In the case of email you would need to somehow find a way for the prospect to give you their email address. In most cases online this would involve some type of incentive/bribe offered on your site in exchange for the email address. But this only really yields you a prospect and not someone who would necessarily buy from you (client/customer). What I have found is that you have to (in many cases) do it the old fashioned way, face-to-face. One of the ways that have worked for me is to conduct monthly "talks" on the importance of having a website in today's environment. Many times I will have between 2 and 3 people who will want additional information, which has led to several projects.Which in turn became additions to my "Client Base". The most important thing is to have a list of people who have worked with you before, as they are much more inclined to work with you again. Hope that helps.
