The good news is that it's possible and I know because I did it. Here are a few tips to get you started. Create a buzz around your brand from the network you have now.  You will need to make an emotional connection, so use people in your network - doll them up and run a small fashion event in the store. They will be delighted to help and will spread the word as they will be the models, and choose normal people who will shine and touch local emotions. Perhaps let it be known you will be donating a small percentage to a community charity from your sales and get some advertising free. Use your camera phone to take great shots with your models and get them to share them on social.  Create some videos and rinse-repeat.  Run a viral giveaway for some merchandise.  There's literally tons you can do that won't cost. Well, it will cost you time and effort.

Social media is changing, the rules of the game are changing and it's harder to get anywhere with social unless you pay to play. Think of social as your micro-content, how you promote your content and especially your audiovisual content and that means video. Yes, you better get comfortable on camera or on audio or both. The biggest search engine is Google, the second is youtube and guess what they are the same. Here's a video on how to split up your content in many ways.

It is highly unlikely that you will be able to grow the way you would like to without some capital. (more) It is highly unlikely that you will be able to grow the way you would like to without some capital. You are an investment in your business and your business is an investment in the belief that you can succeed in whatever dream you have. Realistically, you would have to budget something in order to get your business noticed and even though time is something you will heavily invest, you will have other forms of expenditure. Saying you want to grow a business without investing in it, is setting the signal that you don't believe in your business or yourself. Even if you have very little, you are making a huge statement that says you believe in yourself and your business. So look at small investments you can make that will give you the best ROI. (more) Using Facebook as your advertising portal should be thought of in 2 ways. 1 Brand recognition, because the way the algorithm works is that even though your ad can be highly targeted, the chances of actually getting robots and the ads being seen by the wrong people are very high. Therefore, consider this as a branding exercise to get your name in front of many eyeballs. I  guess it's the same with any advertising really, there's going to be a lot of dull leads vs hot ones, but branding that is remembered will eventually convert. 2. Generation of leads through relationship building. One way we have been successful is to work on the premise of answering a burning question from an emotional standpoint and then looking to generate a relationship from that, hence you will stand a greater chance of getting a better ROI on your leads. The last thing, stop thinking about leads, think service - leads will come from great service remembered. Ask for referrals in a clever way, even using ads.  Be careful how you target your potential clients using Facebook and think outside the box. Ensure your targeting is optimal, and do not just think of ads, think of content reaching the people that matter. Happy to offer advice anytime.

That's primarily due to ignorance of what it takes to market their brand and those days of building it and they will come are gone. Many businesses need to be educated at just how volatile online marketing can be. They tend to think that it's easy to just get a few links and they will rank and bank and that is ignorance of the highest degree. Online marketing is strategic, it is a war and a battle and you have to be the greatest strategist going, in terms of modernism, tech and of course psychology of the buyer and your competition.
