I applied for my PPP with SunTrust as a sole proprietor with an LLC. My bank that I usually work with is USAA because I am military. They are not offering PPP loans. My mortgage was with SunTrust so I thought it would be a good match. I opened a business checking account with them where the loan money would go if granted. Checking had my personal SSN and loan had my business tax ID so that was one obstacle. I got that straight. I spent hours on the phone with them and also in person in the bank to make sure everything was in order. I was assured everything was in order. After holding up my application for a month, the underwriter sent me a note last Friday saying my checking account had to be opened with them prior to Jan 1st. It did not matter that I had my mortgage that pays for my business office and teaching studio with them since 2016. Now I am running into an approaching deadline and every bank is requesting for me to already have an account with them. This has been very stressful.

Find a small credit union bank who is taking new customers. That would be my advise., I found one in my area.

My Bank said SBA is not accepting any applications for anyone because they have not even released the new application for the new PPP rules? And I thought the 2 week time period ends today. Make sense of that!
