Start attending some local bike shows, and if possible or allowed, set up a booth with some of your designs displayed and pass out business cards or flyers. Wearing your own helmets when going out helps some too, but not as much as I've found. You could also put your designs on websites like Etsy and Ebay so customers can contact you to do custom helmets and other items. Putting the word out on social media is a must if you want to expand your customer base. You could possibly partner with a local vinyl wrap company to do the art work for them.

Make sure you each explain your goals and expectation, and that each of you agree on the outcome, in writing. Depending on what it is, an actual contract would not hurt either. Also, do some research and see what something similar would cost and compare that to your new artist's proposal. It's...

Also, do some research and see what something similar would cost and compare that to your new artist's proposal. It's sad that a person's word is not worth much any more. It honestly sickens me when I hear of "businesses" scamming and cheating someone. I don't see how they stay in business.

I built my website a VERY long time ago using Frontpage. Yes, some of you may have never heard of that. It's that old. It is in desperate need of being redone. I still have some personal stuff on there that is not business related, that needs to go away. My e-commerce pages look boring and I have no search function.
I have some ideas for a new site design, but I neither have the time or the know-how to do some of them. I don't want to use a standard template that looks like several other site. I do use analytics, but I really don't know how to improve my site based on those.
Since my business is more of a hobby and a way to let my creative juices flow, I do not generate the type of income from it that can support an expensive website. I do sell most of my designs on large e-commerce art websites like Zazzle and Cafepress. That is where I generate most of my income, compared to my graphic design and custom painting / airbrushing.

Tony said it already, just mention your work (with examples) online on social media, and try to get some pros to wear helmets with your designs. Well done hand painted (not airbrushed or clean graphics) is a great niche.
