Dana Lawrence Drenik has been an educator since 1999 and has over twenty five years of combined classroom experience teaching grades preK-8, music and foreign language. Fluent in French, conversant in Spanish and having played various instruments since the age of 2 (including violin, piano, percussion and guitar), music inspires and is sometimes incorporated into her teaching style with younger students. Dana is a singer/songwriter and performing musician, playing guitar and composing original songs for all ages (check out the tunes2teach educational music video playlist on YouTube at http://bit.ly/2fBkbmJ). With a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature and Civilization (cum laude), she spent 15 years as a public school teacher in both the Chicago Public School system and North Shore School District 112 before leaving to start her private tutoring company tunes2teach.com in 2013.
