All the previous answers are "spot on". The main difference for me is the Due Diligence period - it is much longer for commercial deals. Town & city regulations as well as the Dept of Environmental Regulations also need to be reviewed by the buyers attorney to see if they will be able to use the property in the manner that they want. There are also the financing and CAP rate details to consider.
