How We Got Started
Kellie is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology (BFA in Photography) and began her career as a full-time newspaper photojournalist. After a decade documenting real stories and fast-moving events, she transitioned into portraiture, bringing that same calm direction, technical mastery, and storytelling approach into a refined studio experience.
Her background in photojournalism continues to shape how she works today — anticipating moments, working confidently in dynamic environments, and creating imagery that feels both polished and authentic.

I hope you purchased ProSelect :) Ive been using for probably 10 years now or close to it...my sales dramatically increased with IPS and Proselect. My sales avg per family/senior session is $3450 this year.

Ive had a few lately come in thru finding me on YELP. But still my main referral source to date is Google.
Also are you asking where the general public is searching? If so, I still would say Google...PPA is great for those that know to search on it...the general public Googles.

Pricing...that is challenging...I know I am one of the most expensive in my area. But Ive been working in my business for over 17 years and have a degree from RIT. However I was a newspaper photojournalist in the beginning...and jumped ship after 10 years and started clean in my own biz. That being said...I sure wish I had worked with another photographer in their biz to learn more about this type of work.
You need to base your pricing on your overhead and also what is it YOU want to make in your business for your lifestyle. How much do you want to work? You can price low end and shoot lots...or price higher end and work less. That is really for you to determine.
I personally do not look at others prices, at least now...but in the beginning I did...but who is to say their pricing is correct? So I would maybe look at others info and gauge it on what you feel your work is worth, and what you want to make.
Ive had a business coach for years and he changed my print prices from maybe it was 50 a 5x7 to 160 a 5x7. I know others would think that is nuts...but the clients I get will pay that...however there are a ton of those "I want it all" prospects for 200 bucks...I dont book them, as they are not my client.
I hope this gives you another perspective to look at.

I dont work with builders either in particular...but was a member of the homebuilders association for a year...that is where you will find that type of market. Also, chambers, BNI any local networking groups may help..

None of those are working as good as my organic google rank on page one. Also FB is a lower end market I find for my biz. I have to say however that I have gotten a few jobs off linked in for my headshots and YELP for headshots and families....its a mixed bag...however Google and WOM are the...

Word of mouth is usually the best...but if you have clients that come from out of the area like I do...then google is key for me...helps to be on the first page of google searches for your area so your website can be found.
