Word of mouth is still the best in my humble opinion. Social media is becoming the way people state their recommendations at present. Then you get reviews with Social Media advertising... Reviews, whether positive or negative on social media can be misleading. However, I am afraid that the public reads reviews about businesses and professionals from people they don't know and treat them like someone reviewing a hotel or a travel site. Although I am blessed with grave reviews, I have read some unfair reviews on people I know to be good and I have seen some bad professionals with extensive solicited good reviews. The public should be aware that Reviews go both ways and that the business reviewed is at a big disadvantage when attempting to defend itself against a vicious yet unfair review. If you get a bad review, respond to the readers not the person making the review. When you advertise on Social media as you must nowadays, always watch comments or reviews and respond calmly, fairly, and address the readers not the posters. I respect opposing points of view.
