I've used Contact Form 7, WP Forms and wufoo and I'm currently using HubSpot - Wufoo is a subscription service and not a plugin, but it integrates with Wordpress nicely. I don't know that it matters too much which one you use as long as it works for you. They all work about the same.

Typically, I just explain that they/their business is not a good fit for mine and suggest that they find another designer/marketer/developer that can better fit their needs - utlimately, that's really what it's about. Most times, that's more than enough because if their behavior or business...

Typically, I just explain that they/their business is not a good fit for mine and suggest that they find another designer/marketer/developer that can better fit their needs - utlimately, that's really what it's about. Most times, that's more than enough because if their behavior or business practices are causing strain on the relationship, they've already probably thought about ending the business relationship. If not, it may prompt them to think about it and take action on their part to salvage the relationship. Either way, it's an awkward conversation, no matter how you see it. Good luck!

Depending on who your audience is, try to attend some type of business networking event - BNI, chamber of commerce, networking group - something where you can get in front of people. I've found that online marketing, specifically to try and reach a new market is ineffective. Meeting people, such as business owners and entrepreneurs, is a much more effective way to spend your time and get your name out and amongst the small business community. Good luck!

I use social media to help supplement my content marketing strategy - I don't tend to get many actual leads, however, social media activity does help with SEO and potential customers will check there when considering working with or buying from a company or business. Having an active presence is important on social media and certainly if you're running ads, you probably need to be even more active, however, you don't necessarily need to post daily. Ultimately, it depends on what you're using it for, but I tend to use it for supplementing and promoting my content marketing strategies.

I actually have this issue frequently - to be honest, it's a matter of working with the client because ultimately, you don't want to lose the business, but you want to be fairly and promptly compensated for your work. In my situation, I know the VP of the company who mediated and found an adequate solution that worked for both parties. Frankly, dealing with accounting issues just plain sucks, and takes away from what you do best. Good luck!

I don't think it's unethical, I just think that there are far too many people out there that are trying to scam their way through (I've seen the Bass Pro shops logo on someone's portfolio of work) and it's become a place to get work done for cheap. Too often, I think people who need design done...

I don't think it's unethical, I just think that there are far too many people out there that are trying to scam their way through (I've seen the Bass Pro shops logo on someone's portfolio of work) and it's become a place to get work done for cheap. Too often, I think people who need design done are settling for the lowest price, not necessarily the best quality work or designer who really understands their brand. It's good for people to get their feet wet, but experienced designers shouldn't use it as their means of attracting new clients, especially if they want better, high paying freelance gigs.
In general, it has issues. The biggest being not being responsive. As was stated by some other folks, the color combination is tough on the eyes and the layout just doesn't appeal. It's slow to load, at least for me, in Chrome. I'm hoping that your developer, if you didn't create the site...

In general, it has issues. The biggest being not being responsive. As was stated by some other folks, the color combination is tough on the eyes and the layout just doesn't appeal. It's slow to load, at least for me, in Chrome. I'm hoping that your developer, if you didn't create the site yourself, isn't finished. I'd revisit and make some edits to make the site more appealing, better laid out and responsive. Also, it's not SSL secure, which will go a long way toward helping with SEO down the line. Good luck!

It's not a bad site, by any stretch of the imagination, however, it does have some issues - the first of which being that when the page responds down, the red button to schedule forces the page to go beyond the width of the screen on a smaller device - that's simple responsive design and something that can be fixed. I'm assuming you've optimized your site for keywords and the like, however, I see some duplicate content on a couple pages, which can actually hurt SEO - SEO is part of web design. Sites needs to be designed with that in mind. Beyond that, there's a slew of tools out there to help optimize your site for search engines. I wouldn't "fire" the designer, by any stretch, I'd just ask a few more questions about SEO and whether the site is ready to be indexed by search engines for maximum findability. Maintenance should be considered because content isn't static - it's something that should be revisited frequently to make sure it's relevant and still helping you rank for your keywords. Good luck!
