What does your business look for "in return" for helping non-profits?

As the Founder of my non-profit (25+ years) Organization, we have found by adding Support Sponsors (donors) to our website with a link to their Business has been something they really appreciate, as well Spotlighting through interviews, site posts, newspaper article mentions, poster mentions,... (more) As the Founder of my non-profit (25+ years) Organization, we have found by adding Support Sponsors (donors) to our website with a link to their Business has been something they really appreciate, as well Spotlighting through interviews, site posts, newspaper article mentions, poster mentions, etc. etc.  At one time we had Business Window decals identifying them as Supporters, framed Certificate of Appreciation...  A sad truth about many non-profits is the lack of true Community support or engaging.  My non-profit Organization now offers Fiscal Sponsorship in the A&E Industry.  Many churches also have a non-profit status but do nothing in their Community.   In response to Roger Sweatt (Commentator below), I have never receive a  paycheck, paid holiday or retirement, any form of insurance and often our multiple Community wide events (where thousands were helped with school supplies, food, new socks & undergarments, etc.)  would cost out of pocket in addition to the generous donations of business supporters.  OUT OF POCKET.  My Organization was one of hundreds who housed evacuees from Katrina, Rita and Ike... We lost tens of thousands of dollars for helping as we did; but we would do it all over again if need be.

(more) My first piece was my personal story, which was very hard for me to do but at the same time it was the most natural thing to do.  After a very serious and deadly bout with Major Depression, I determined to take the "bull" as in (BS) by the horns and save my life with the help of course of my relationship with God. Little did I know that for ME, it was the best thing I could have ever done, having been freed of years of pain and tormenting depression, which led me to author 4 more books and publish for many others internationally.  Now, with my first screenplay and so much international support for it's production, I understand Subject and Purpose in writing...
