C.A.S. is a high-quality bag company located in Hudson, Massachusetts. Each bag is designed, developed, and sewn by Cara DesJardins and a small team of leather crafts people. Each bag is made of full-grain leather and 100 percent linen.
We only use the highest-quality materials in our handbag construction. Being a natural material, leather often presents minor marks and variations inherent to the hide. While mass-produced or high-end bags try to eliminate those imperfections, we see them as part of the unique character of the material. We believe it is possible to make bags that are beautiful without supporting the wastefulness of the handbag industry.

Cara DesJardins

Established in 2013, C.A.S. Handmade Inc. is the creation of Cara DesJardins. A native Rhode Islander, Cara was exposed to sewing and textile design at an early age. From this seed there sprouted a unique line of stylish bags, totes, clutches, home textiles and clothes.

Cara graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in textile engineering and earned over ten years experience designing and creating at several textile companies. She took her passion to the next level, combining her love for fabrics, color, and craftsmanship, and developed a line of custom handbags and pillows made from all-natural, hand-painted linen and leather. The natural linen complements the earth mineral pigments she uses to paint her bags. Cara creates a very natural, simplistic style that she strives to maintain in each of her bag styles.
