I am the owner of Absolutely Amazing Travel and have been in business since 1994. Prior to starting my business, I was a software engineer working for Boeing. I had lost my job and was having trouble finding another position in engineering. I started doing outside sales for travel agency temporarily until the job market improved. I loved working for myself and loved researching and learning about other countries. After a few months, I decided to open up my own travel agency not really knowing anything about running a business or sales and marketing. I made a lot of mistakes but managed to survive. I love what I do. I specialize in experiential travel where you meet the locals, learn about the culture and get close to nature. I also started a sub-company, Amazing Running Tours where I sell trips for runners, cyclists and hikers. I have been a long-distance runner for many years as well as a cyclist and it is great to be able to combine my passion with my business.
