About Us

Munden Media, LLC specializes in web, graphic and instructional design and web hosting. My passion is to listen to your business story and then put together something magnificent.

Most DIY companies are FEE-based, not FREE-based and THEY own your website! My mission is to put YOU back in control of your website and business.

Ask yourself these questions:
1. Are you a graphic designer? Probably not.
2. Are you a web designer? Probably not
3. Do you understand the elements and principles of graphic design? Probably not
4. Do you want to run your business? Probably YES, with a passion!
5. Do you REALLY want to build your own website? Probably not.

If this looks like some of your answers then building a DIY website is not for you. I have a degree in graphic design and a masters in instructional design with 20 years experience as a Marketing Director. Building websites is a passion of mine.

Very poor representation of corporate branding when you deviate from your company color(s) not to mention the message it sends out to your audience about adherence to company standards.

The final product, their website, does not go live until the payment is complete. I would indicate on the invoice that there is a x% interest after 30 days. If you are a small business you cannot wait 90 days to get paid and furthermore, that is poor business on your clients part. If you do repeat business with this "valuable client who does not like to pay on time" then I would consider changing (tightening up) your payment practices (based on your experience with them).

I would suggest a more creative solution and build it into your marketing plan, e.g. ask clients, up front, if they would be willing to provide testimonials for your projects so they know it is part of the process and provide a written survey that you can then turn into a rating with a comment section that can be turned into a testimonial you can use anywhere.

Security: Your site is not showing as secure. You risk your visitors leaving. There is no About page? Describe what your company does. Home & Services Remove HOME in top nav. Most sites are using the logo link as the home and to have another HOME in the top nav is redundant. Make the top image parallax scrolling. If you are not using a WordPress platform I strongly suggest you do.The top image is too dark. Remove the "world" image background. It is low resolution and is killing, not only the quality of the site but readability. More of the same for the other pages. Images are too large and interfere with readability. YurHome Program Change this to just Program. Image background on this page is much better quality but I would reduce the height by 1/2, if not more (same size as on payment page) and remove the overlay image. Move all the text that is overlaying the image, that you cannot read well, below the image. Change all bold lettering to regular and use bold for headings. Bottom of this page is looking much better and reads so much easier. Apply this to the other pages that you cannot read. Team images are poor quality and do not represent the company well. Remove the image background because it interferes with readability. Payment page is getting better. Use this concept of narrow image with text underneath. Remove the black and white image. Follow this layout theme on all the pages. Pricing- redo the pricing and list it out nicely, instead of a drop down list, with individual buttons that go to PayPal. Change Payments to Pricing in top navigation page. Remove the Payments Option drop down that is overlaying the bottom image. You do not show that PayPal is an option when it is the only option. I would suggest you use this page as the main layout theme and use this for all other pages. Do not overlay text over these images. This site is not designed for this even though you have the option to use a background, I would not recommend it. I would also bring up the opacity in the image on this page so it does not appear so washed out. Do the opposite for the front page. It is too dark and the contrast is too low. Overall score 1 to 10, I would rate this at a 2, mainly because of readability and image quality. There seems to be no thought into design elements or principles but just random placement of elements on a page. Most of the pages can be easily corrected to look very professional.  I would first recommend you go take a look at Apple.com for text/image layout and find about 10 other sites that you like and narrowing it down to your top 3 picks and get layout inspiration from those. Remove all images off the pages and change the bold text to regular and you will start seeing how much cleaner the site will look. You can find free high resolution images on the internet and I would find someone with a nice camera and take pictures of office staff in the same lighting so the images are also high resolution and contract is the same for each. WordPress.org: Download the platform. It's free. Then find a theme you like within the platform itself. You can start with Phlox theme (http://averta.net/phlox/wordpr...) which is a good theme to start a layout. Tons of plugins offer fancy features such as accordion drop down menus, parallax scrolling, video background, etc.  23 Free Parallax Wordpress Themes 2018 https://athemes.com/collections/free-parallax-w...

What did you just think of? The LOGO! You cannot (successfully) build a website without a logo, a brand, an identity. Your whole plan begins and expands with your logo design. If you are satisfied with the logo it will expand your potential for building a successful website. In the design, corporate branding and marketing world, the very first thing you need is a Logo, a memorable mark that people can relate to, remember and ultimately buy from this memory, from an advertisement they have seen in a 30 second commercial, most likely. When they are standing in front of the counter trying to figure out what to buy, it is the logo that subconsciously comes to mind and they make the decision to purchase the product, along with a catchy commercial memory! Buy Tide! You can't make a "catchy " commercial without a logo/brand mark, can you? The logo is far more important, but the website presence is then built on this logo, so I will rephrase the question for you "Which should I do first, build my website or design my logo? By now, this should be an easy answer. Would you go into business without a plan .... and expect to succeed? Maybe, but you might have to rely on luck so the best approach is to just design the logo and get off on the right foot to win the race, so to speak. The logo and corporate brand has existed far longer than website, internet presence, and holds a stronger track record for success than any websites I have seen. Websites are just an additional connection to the world to advertise your logo/brand. Logo, letterhead, business cards, website, in that order.

Work on it until they are satisfied and you will in turn be more satisfied and grow with their referrals. Never say no, but rather offer suggestions. If something is not right then it is my responsibility to figure out how to make it right or find an answer from someone I know or the great internet! Always look for, not just a win-win but a win-win + win situation/solution. Don't just make it right, make it BETTER! I started a 6 week contract that lasted 13+ years at a major Pharma company and I contribute this "never say no" attitude to my lengthy extension as I was constantly getting calls from global colleagues, "I was told that you were the one I needed to speak to and see if you would join us on our next project". What a great complement this is and so easy to do rather than telling people "that's out of scope of my responsibilities ... good luck!". This approach always works, never gets old and I learn something new from it each year.

I was fortunate to have a friend who gave me a hard back from the 50's. Everyone should read it at least once. I was reading it every year as a refresher, not just for business but for everyday situations and encounters with others.

My father wrote his Bio (growing up on a tobacco farm during the great depression and the second half was his navy years in WWII). I transcribed it for him and then he went on to publish the book via Authorhouse (expensive). He sells it on Amazon (The Spring of '31) and went to many local book signings. That was all when he was 83 and had great fun with it. He is now 93 and it is still a great conversational piece for him. I built him a website way back and the books never really took off on Amazon. I told him to stop spending money with the publisher and so now I am looking to ramp the website up again and pick up the marketing from where we left off but this is a Bio from a man who is not famous (except to me!) so it is a challenge to get it out there. I will probably be transcribing it again into an eBook form and launch it that way, maybe even do a video!
