(more) I love what Abel and Sofi said.  Have you consider this: For the woodworking professional seeking remuneration for unique and crafted items. If your audience does not respond (all the channels you currently sell in) you might be speaking the wrong language. Have you tried to work directly with Architects or builders (large home builders) they all need different lighting fixtures, lobby tables , wall hangings , etc unique items that create a striking design statement to make their company look unique and stand out ... Selling from a different perspective ... instead of "this is my brand .. you need it"  you might consider what i call a perspective of co-branding  where you enhance other peoples image/ brand  with your skills. That way you are building something that enhances their company and brand. Just a thought in case you had not tried that approach before...  all the best Sam

(more) Dear Sos, There are a million great ideas, and every successful business has to cope with some version of competitors; coping marketing methods, stealing customers, and lifting important marketing attributes to rob the uniqueness of what you offer. Think of your business more like a battle and a strategic plan should include many of the thoughts people have already left you in this post. Build a team around you to help manage each aspect of your battle plan, Someone to legally challenge them, someone to adopt each specific issue, so that you can manage the battle activity instead of being the only person trying to overcome all the onslaughts of your situation. Like Sofi said, I love 3rd party endorsements as they are an indisputable way to build credibility in the minds of consumers. Never stop creating solutions will generally allow you to always stay ahead of competition and the noise of others trying to intimidate you. Best wishes for you. Sam

(more) Steve, can not see what business your in, but it typically would be a function of Budget, Target audience, the mostly likely format to reach them; social, print, affiliated ads. Affiliated advertorials and unusual written angles of explaining your service or product is very popular on web pages these days like "43 rare photos of woodstock not suitable for history books" .....  Like Maury says in his post if your not measuring and adapting your money or luck will run dry. best, Sam

Think Relationship first then business second, if you lead the way by asking about their family or business invironment it shows your care and in turn they will ask you about what you do, then and only then is the door open for a business connection....   that’s how I try to approach it.
