How We Got Started

MaxIT was established in 1995 when two brothers got together with a desire to deliver innovative, effective and efficient learning solutions to the corporate and higher education markets. Since our inception, we have developed 'disruptive' (i.e. non-conforming) custom learning solutions for a broad variety of businesses both large and small. Our current mission is to continue to develop our non-conforming and disruptive solutions to help organizations identify and develop their top performers as well as deliver engaging and entertaining training content to their employee base.

When I first started my business, I was single and fat and happy. I got married and had a child and boy did things change. I know that doesn't directly address the question, however, starting the family really made me look a lot harder at my business process. I jumped into this business with my brother and we just sort did it. We borrowed some money from our father and started selling training on the Internet in 1995. It was a lot of fun then as there was not a whole lot of competition. Although we got lucky with some of the developers we aligned ourselves with early on, I wish we knew how to better plan our business from the beginning. Twenty-four years later we have worked it out, but with better planning at the beginning, we could have smoothed out the valleys and heightened the peaks. Use the 5 p's if you are just starting out. Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
