"Though we ended up purchasing a home out of Andrew's area, we wished he could have been our agent on the home we did purchase. He was responsive, knowledgeable and punctual - something we didn't find in the other few agents we worked with. And he's pleasant! :-)"
"Love to visit their tasting room and grounds, drink fine wines, and visit with the friendly staff!"

Hi Christine, I've been selling my photography for the last bunch of years :-), and I'd say it really depends on where you are in your career, obviously. So, assuming you're looking to start, my recommendation is, assuming also that from what exposure you've had to general public or at least fam & friends has been encouraging, is to find a way to display your work in a 10ft by 10ft area. First, see if you can buy/rent/or borrow a 10'x10' canopy and some sort of wall system, pedestal sytem or whatever can hold your art. If you can only display your art but don't have or can't handle a canopy - search Craig's List and other online sites for the most inexpensive, local, and ideally indoor art show. If you have or can get a canopy you'll have a greater selection of shows to enter. Either way, look for any show you feel comfortable with. If you're budget conscious just find the one that makes sense. Biggest word of caution is that you shouldn't do the show for sales but for experience and education. You'll get truer, honest feedback from the people there than anywhere else I can think of. See it as an experiment to see how people react to your work, your presentation, your talk, your pricing - everything! If you go into it looking for just feedback, the show will be a success! Hope that helps?!
I'd think an attorney would be a good idea at this point - someone to make sure both interests are covered. I assume they're looking for some sort of ROI, and if so, they may want some degree of say-so. So, you certainly want to know to what degree you're willing to allow their control. Seems...

I assume they're looking for some sort of ROI, and if so, they may want some degree of say-so. So, you certainly want to know to what degree you're willing to allow their control. Seems there'd be all sorts of stipulations for both parties to agree upon and have in a contract.
Florida, I flew to Florida! :-) I'm hoping for a commission overseas though someday! I know this doesn't really answer the question but they asked if I'd be willing to fly to Florida and stay as long as I need in their condo while shooting their property. It was a great trip, and the greatest...

All good advice. I'd add that Craig's List has a "Community" section with a sub category for Artists. I check that now and then for a good, reasonable show. Definitely make it known that it's for a percentage and any demographics / #'s of those you think will attend. I'll do a tiny show if it's a...

Definitely make it known that it's for a percentage and any demographics / #'s of those you think will attend. I'll do a tiny show if it's a place I like, for a cause I like, and especially if the attendees have potential to be clients. Good luck!!
Unless you have a set fee to discount, I'd be leery of offering one. I'd come up with what I want to charge and use that number. They should know you're taking everything into consideration and I feel "discounts" can look flaky. That's just my two bits though since you were asking! :-) Good luck!
