How We Got Started

My notebook obsession began when I was a little girl. The first notebook I remember keeping my “journal” in (I was too proud to call it a diary) was a thin, square notebook with colorful, unlined pages. I remember keeping track of my dreams and stories from school, and when I ran out of things to write, I asked my brothers and parents what happened in their day so I could have more things to write. Today, I am still just as obsessed, if not more, with journals.

Was that really just a more clever way to say, “I’ve been writing since I was a kid”? It absolutely was. You know why? Because reading, “I’ve been writing since I was a kid” is boring. It’s true, but it’s boring. What I do for a living is take boring sentences like that off of your website and replace them with ones that hold more meaning.

I love hearing customers tell me they can’t believe how I took their story and turned into something interesting. I always tell them, “Your story isn’t boring. You just haven’t read it yet.”
