ANSIL A New Start In Life
Homeless individuals and families frequently have a difficult time exiting poverty and ending homelessness. ANSIL offers a variety of services which improve the quality of life for people living on the streets and may give them a start toward finding a job and moving off the streets. ANSIL also provides services to 18-24 year old young adults who are in need of transitional housing as well as the opportunity to learn the skills and knowledge to be successful productive citizens of society.
In 2011, the local congregation of The River of Life MC Church started ANSIL A New Start In Life, to help the homeless population. Reverend Pierce found that a significant amount of young adults were needing more services so planning and creating for the transitional housing unit was started. ANSIL Hall, the transitional housing unit for 18-24 year-olds, opened January of 2016. When Reverend Pierce decided to retire from the church is when a new 501(c)3 named ANSIL A New Start In Life was created in November 2018, with the program that had been known as ANSIL A New Start In Life. Reverend Pierce became President of the Board for the new 501(c)3 where Reverend Pierce remained on the Board until July 2020. ANSIL A New Start In Life still serves our community and is blessed to be able to have a strong Board of Directors who govern and run the program.
